TipGemini 4 Argon: Google's new top model is now in the Gemini app
Google has released its most powerful AI model in the Gemini app. It is included in Google AI Pro (255 SEK/month in Sweden). Here is what it means for you – and whether you even need it.
On 13 October 2026 Google made its new top model, Gemini 4 Argon, available globally. Everyday users get it in the Gemini app and in AI Mode in Google Search – but only with a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription. The free version of Gemini does not get Argon.
According to Google, Argon answers more directly, repeats itself less and gives more frequent progress updates on longer tasks. The model is built for heavy work: long documents, analysis, code and multi-step tasks.
At the same time the Gemini app got a toggle to switch from chat to tasks. Gemini can then keep working for you even when you are away from your computer. Gemini can also connect to more than 40 apps, such as OpenTable, Adobe and Shopify. According to Google, tasks are only available in selected countries and languages.
Price in Sweden: Google AI Pro costs 255 SEK/month and Google AI Ultra from 999 SEK/month (Google One, retrieved 17 October 2026). Pro also includes 5 TB of storage and family sharing with up to five people. The AI benefits in the subscriptions require you to be 18 or older.
For businesses building their own solutions, Argon in Google's API costs $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens during an introductory period until 30 November 2026. After that, $4 and $20 apply.
Our advice for beginners: you do not need a top model for recipes, emails or everyday questions. Free Gemini or Google AI Plus (55 SEK/month in Sweden) is often enough. Argon is most useful for long documents, complex spreadsheets or multi-step tasks.
How to get started
- Check what you already pay for: if you have Google One with AI Pro, you already have access to Argon.
- Try it with a real task, for example: "Read this contract and list everything I need to do before 1 December."
- Try tasks if they are available to you – but never let Gemini pay for or book anything without your approval first.
